Event Pentathlon

Brief Overview: Make a team of three to six people. Teams will compete in each of five events. Prizes will be awarded based on how well teams do in each of the five events.

In every event, points will be given based on placement.

First Place: 5 points
Second Place: 4 points
Third Place: 3 points
Fourth and below: 2 points

The decision to give points to everyone was made to keep the competition fierce. Also, in the events, there may be hidden ways to get extra points. It's damn near impossible to get though, so keep that in mind.


Sign Up:

Teams must have the following:

A) No less than three, and no more than six members. An agreed upon team leader
C) A way outside of a party or guild name to distinguish itself (a common color theme, a common headgear, that type of thing.)
D) Each team must pay a registration fee of 200,000 zeny per member.

Signing up in the forum is preferred, (for ease) or take registrations up until the beginning of the first event. BEFORE THE FIRST EVENT STARTS, REGISTRATION WILL BE CLOSED! Registration fees will be collected previous to the beginning of the first event, so please make sure you have someone there early to pay us. Note that all the zeny generated in a registration fee goes towards the winning team of the Pentathlon.

The events themselves (and details surrounding them) are as follows:

PvP Event:

Where: Ice Dungeon Three.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S AGGRO MONSTERS THERE: Yeah, we know. Figured it'd make things a little more interesting.

It will be a 3v3 PvP event. Teams can enter more than one team, however, only the team that does the best will gain points. The other team will be dropped from the point standings. It will either be a tree type tournament or a round robin, depending on how many teams we have. Either way, in the end, first and second will battle it out, and third and forth will battle it out.

Teams will be required to party the GMs. They will warp to a random part of the dungeon, and you all will warp or walk to our locations. This will be your starting point. From there, you have three minutes to find and kill each other. Resurrections are not allowed. Re-warping in is not allowed. A GM will be keeping tabs on people's HP and locations through the party window. If both teams are still alive at the end of the three minutes, it will be down to whoever has the most people alive, and from there whoever has the most hit point percentage.

Note that other people may be leveling there. Some of them will ignore you, others might try and kill you for fun. It's on you to smack 'em up some. If you die, whether it's from the other team, a monster, or an outside player, you're still dead. Please remember that.


Jeopardy, RO style.

Where: Yuno.

People will be in teams of three. If a team enters more than one team, than only the team with the highest total will gain points in the point standing.

THe GM should have a hand-written list of a small jeopardy board with trivia questions. (IRL) Catagories will be announced when the event begins. Whoever has the most money at the end of the game wins.

You will play a single round, no double jeopardy, no final jeopardy. You gain moneys by answering questions correctly, you lose money by either answering wrong, or running out of time.

The buzz word will be MUDKIPZ! The first person to buzz that in will get the chance to answer. They will have fifteen seconds to answer the question. If they are wrong, or they run out of time, either myself or Faustus will announce that the floor is open again. Then the process starts over.

NOTE: If you get a question wrong, or run out of time, not only does your team lose money, but you and your teammates are banned from trying again. Each team only gets one shot.

RULES:

1) DO NOT speak in public chat unless you are answering or buzzing in. I don't care if you speak in party chat or whatever, but the GMs need to see answers and buzzing easily. Everyone else needs to see the question easily. The first offense will get a warning, the second will start losing you money. (YES, you can go into negative moneys) If you keep it up, we will start deducting tournament points from your team.)

2) Only buzz in once, and if you see people have already buzzed in, please don't contribute to the spam.

3) The GM will call on people. DO NOT ANSWER UNTIL WE CALL ON YOU.

4) All answers must be in the form of a question.




RO Scavenger Hunt:

Where: Amatsu

This is fairly straight forward. Again, it will be in teams of three, and again, if a team has more than one placing, they will only have their highest count. The way this will work is thus:

When the event begins, The GMs will post a list on the forums for the hunt. As soon as we BroadCast 'GO' the clock begins. You will have a half hour to give us as many things as you can from the list.

The list will be divided into item levels. Each level will have a point association with it. (For instance, and apple would be worth one point, whereas a whisper card would be worth more) The highest level will consist of clues to find certain people sitting around in towns and stuff. They will have items that they'll gladly give you if you ask nicely, that will be worth more than the first two levels.

When the half hour ends, you will be expected to be standing in a line. We will be keeping track of who comes in first. ALL THREE MEMBERS OF YOUR GROUP MUST BE THERE FOR YOU TO COUNT AS BEING IN!!

For every minute you, or any group member, is outside the half hour limit, points will be deducted from your Scavenger Hunt score. If a group member has to leave before the event finishes, please let a GM know, so we won't deduct points for their lack of presence.

If people tie on their totals, the order in which they got there will determine placement.


Riddle Me This Event

Where: Rachel

Here's how this works:

Again, teams of three. Again, the higher placing group on the same team gets the points. No double point dipping.

A GM will be there to give you the first clue. This clue will lead you to a location on a map. On the map, there will be a person sitting there. Deal them. They will give you an item, and PM you the next clue. When you get to the next person, deal them, and TRADE THEM YOUR ITEM. They will exchange it for a different item. THIS IS SO WE KNOW YOU WENT TO ALL THE CLUES. You can NOT obtain the next riddle without having done the first one.

The process goes on until you find The GM. Give him/her the final item, and your group is cocked into your place. There will be NO ADDITIONAL HINTS GIVEN. So please don't PM anyone who is helping run the event asking for help - you won't get it.

Fashion Event: RO Theater

Where: Jawaii stage.

Again, groups of three, and no double dipping points wise. It will be one round. Teams will be required to put on a skit of some sort. Whether it's a reenactment of a movie scene, something you wrote, whatever. Groups will be based on overall looks, and the creativeness of the skit. THIS IS THE ONLY ROUND THAT TEAMS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BE SEPARATED WITH COLOR OR HEADGEAR. We do still ask that you put your group name in your party. If you have two groups from the same team, please just put "Team Name One" and "Team Name Two".

It will be one round. If there is a tie, we will have a bonus round, theme to be announced at the event. If the judges are STILL tied after the bonus round, decision making will go to the audience for a popular vote.

Prizes

After the Fashion Show, we'll tally up the final scores for the pentathlon, and sort out prizes. Now, we won't tell you what exactly is in each prize package, but we WILL tell you the overall themes for them.

First Place will receive the registration money and first choice of the packages.
Second Place will receive second choice.
Third Place will get the remaining package.
